सम्बोधन में राहुल ने कहा कि देश में दो विचारधाराओं के बीच लड़ाई छिड़ी हुई है। इसमें एक तरफ महात्मा गांधी हैं और दूसरी तरफ नाथूराम गोडसे है। गोडसे ने गांधी को मारा, क्योंकि वह अपनी जिंदगी से खुश नहीं था। उसे किसी पर अपना गुस्सा निकालना था, तो उसने यम के गांधी जैसे इंसान को चुना

राहुल ने कहा कि महात्मा गांधी मॉडर्न थे, वे आगे की बात करते थे। गोडसे कायर था, वह सिर्फ बीते हुए कल की बात करता था। भाजपा इस विचारधारा को मानती है। हम महात्मा गांधी की सत्य और अहिंसा की विचारधारा को मानते हैं।

राहुल ने अपने सम्बोधन में कहा कि अगली बार अमेरिका आया तो मैं शिकागो, डैलस, अटलांटा जैसे दूसरे राज्यों में भारतीय समुदायों से मिलना चाहूंगा। मैं आप सबके साथ एक प्यारभरा आत्मीय रिश्ता बनाना चाहता हूं। जहां आप मुझसे अपने मन की बात कह सकें। मैं यहां आकर अपने मन की बात नहीं करना चाहता हूं।
